Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a busy day. Scott's family from Vegas and California were in town and we wanted to spend time with them, but also spend the evening with my family. So, we spent the morning/afternoon at Scott's parents house. We did what we always do and just hung out and played games. We then headed to grandma's house around 4 and had a yummy ham dinner. After cleaning up, we tried to play music with the bells, but with Kylie and Jordan hoarding them, it didn't go over too well. We then read the story of Christ's birth and then it was present time! Kylie and Jordan had fun opening their gifts, but they were also tired and a little grumpy. After dessert, we put a movie on for the kids and then played some games that Aaron and Mike brought (Exploding Kittens & Forbidden Island). After we got home and put the kids to bed, Scott and I worked on getting the stockings stuffed and the presents under the tree. I got so excited setting things up and we couldn't wait until morning.

Zoo Lights

With our zoo pass, we're able to get a free admission to the zoo lights. When Becky came into town on Thursday, the 22nd, we met her there. It was another cold day and we honestly didn't stay long at all. We saw the zoo lights up until the place to see Santa. Kylie was so cute with Santa. While waiting, they had crayons and coloring books and Kylie showed Santa the pages that she colored. We went and saw Santa and then headed back to the car. Our toes were freezing by the time we were done and with getting in for free, I'm okay that we didn't see much. The kids will enjoy the zoo more when they're able to see the animals anyway. After the zoo lights, we went and ate at Red Robin.

Lights at Temple Square

I'm so happy we were able to go downtown and see the lights at Temple Square. As long as we're in Utah, I really want this to be a tradition that we do every year. It was really hard to find a time to go when it wasn't snowing or freezing cold, so I'm grateful that we found a day that worked. Since it was cold and close to Christmas (which means lots of people), we walked through them pretty quickly. It was fun to see the candy window displays at Macy's department store. It is just amazing to see what people can create out of candy. After the lights, we dropped Scott off to play soccer and then put the kids to bed. Jordan was enthralled with the lights and couldn't help but touch every single one. We were able to meet up with my mom (who was there for a wedding reception) and Kylie had fun with grandma. It is special to see Kylie recognize and get excited about seeing the temple. She loved how big it was and kept saying "It's the temple!" while pointing at it. We are very fortunate to be able to live so close to so many temples.
