I thought I'd give a little update on the little things that have been going on in our life. Things have been going really well and it's been nice to be happy and content. First things first, Scott now has 3 jobs! I know it sounds like a lot, but when I explain what they are it won't sound so bad. Scott has been looking for another part-time job for a little bit and found one online that was about giving flu shots. He applied and the company called him a few weeks (
not sure exactly when) later and while talking, Scott found out that the company is based in Rhode Island! Everything with this job is set up online. The company just does random jobs throughout the state with giving flu shots, taking blood pressure, etc. Scott gets an e-mail every time there is a job available and he gets to say whether or not he is available to work that job, which is so nice! There's not a set number of hours he has to work and he can pick a job where he doesn't have to drive far. If he does have to drive far, he'll get compensated for mileage. He's done two jobs and seems to like it so far. The jobs aren't ones that last all day either, so it's easier to do a job for a few hours on his day off and not be exhausted from working. It's a nice way to earn some extra money without any stress. Scott's third part-time job is one that he hasn't started yet. He will be working one day a week at a nursing home facility. He'll be mostly working in the rehabilitation area. He thinks it will be good to do a different job so he doesn't get burned out with working on the orthopedics floor. He's still getting used to working day shifts and comes home pretty exhausted, but it will be good to be on day shifts whenever he starts school.
My Uncle Russell came into town about two weeks ago from Italy. His daughter Rachele has been in town for a few months and he came out to visit. Rachele is still here and I have no idea how long she will be here for. I hadn't seen him since I went to Italy in 2005 and we stayed at his house in Milan. Almost the whole Omer clan showed up to say hi. Kylie was able to play with Marley and Ada (Jessica and Laura's babies) a bit which was fun to see. I didn't get to talk to Russell for very long, but it was good to see him and have Scott meet him as well. My cousin Catie took these cute pictures of Kylie wearing her sunglasses.

Kylie is doing fantastic. She loves going outside whenever she can. If I ever open the front door, she takes it as a sign that it's time to play outside. I try to get outside at least once sometime during the day. Kylie isn't talking much, but says a few words here and there. She can still say "up" and she's starting to say "mama" and "dada" more now. She'll say other words randomly, but nothing too consistent. She does say "help", but it sounds a lot like "up", so we have to look at the situation and figure out which one she's saying. Kylie also likes to do the "more" sign for other things than wanting more of something. It can get a little confusing to understand what she wants. She
loves to listen to music and dance. I try to have a dancing session once a day as well. The only problem is that she loves me to hold her and dance, so I get tired pretty quickly. I've started renting CD's from the library to give her variety of music to listen to. Kylie is also trying to become Maddie's best friend. She will follow that cat around and will give her the cutest hugs (
she'll lay her head down onto the cat) and it is just adorable.
The Royal's made it to the World Series! They've already played two games against the San Fransisco Giants and it's tied 1-1. It is so fun and I love seeing everyone cheer for them. I make sure Kylie wears her dress when they play. We had friends over for the first game and I made some cookies to celebrate. Unfortunately, they lost the first game, but they made up for it by winning the second game. I hope they win the whole thing!
I did this about a month ago, but I bought a big box of peaches and canned 4 jars worth and froze the rest. We are almost finished with the frozen peaches. I didn't realize how much Kylie would love to just eat them frozen! I'll have to buy double (
maybe even triple) the amount next year so we can have frozen peaches for longer than two months.
I also picked all (
but one bag's worth) the grapes off my grandma's vine. She didn't feel the need to make any more grape juice for herself this year, so I said I'd pick her grapes and make juice with them! It was a good thing I did it as we had no grape juice left from previous year's. I was able to get 36 jars of grape juice! It was a long two days, but it was worth it for some delicious grape juice!
We've been doing lots of other activities this month, but I want to wait to talk about them until my monthly goal post. Halloween is next week and I can't wait for Kylie to wear her costume! I had her try it on and she looks so cute in it! Scott may work that night, but we have some activities planned during the day so Halloween will still be fun. We are all doing great!
