Fathers Day Weekend

We celebrated fathers day all weekend. I made Scott his fathers day dinner Saturday night. Our Smith's grocery store is awesome and were making ribs to buy and so I figured that was easier than taking the time to make them at home. We also had corn on the cob and baked potatoes with brownies for dessert.

Sunday, we headed to Scott's parents house to watch the final championship basketball game, eat dinner and play games. The team we were rooting for lost, which was a bummer, but it was fun to watch with other people. Dean's fathers day gift from us was this large Yahtzee game. The dice are blocks of wood with a laundry bucket and it's called Yardzee. It's a fun party game!
Kylie painting a card for Scott.
Daddy got some new hats!
Watching the game! Jordan was going for the refs.
As part of Scott's father's day gift, we headed to a Bee's baseball game on Monday. Kylie was excited about going and then about 20 minutes in started asking to go home. Haha. We ate baseball food and then Kylie was able to ride the free small train they have there, twice. It's always fun to go and see a baseball game during the summer.
Kylie was scared of the Bee at first.
Giving a high five!

Haha, look at that drool.
Ice cream in a helmet!
My mom came too. Just don't have a picture of her.

Wednesday Weekly Recap

Last week was a busy week! It was nice to feel busy and productive and I hope I can keep that up. I just started writing a list of everything that needed to be done and then hopefully we can slowly check them off. Sunday we had dinner at my grandma's and hung out with the rest of my extended family as my cousin Rachele was in town. Monday, we decided to take Jordan to the doctor for the rash on his face. We actually decided to switch doctors as ours was going on maternity leave and we just had too many communication errors and were tired of them. The office is much better than the old one (they have a separate entrance and area for sick kids) and the doctor seemed nice. He said that Jordan probably has perioral dermatitis and prescribed him an antibiotic ointment to put on his face for 8 weeks. It's supposed to get worse before it gets better. Apparently, the creams and how often we were putting them on made his dermatitis worse. Stopping the creams along with the ointment have actually helped his face.

Tuesday, Scott worked and I headed to the library with the kids. Our time in the library looking for books are always very short and I'm usually the one picking out the books. We then headed to the park to play, dropped some of my old clothes & shoes off at the D.I. and went shopping at Walmart. It felt nice to clean out my closet of clothes that just aren't ever going to fit anymore. The next day, we did the same with Scott's clothes and so our closets and dressers are thinned out. We went to Scheele's sports store and I got myself some new running shoes. I was able to use some birthday money for them and I really like them.

Thursday, Scott shadowed in the morning and then I met him at his work for their summer pot luck. We had lunch there and then went to the mall to get Scott's father's day present. He was able to get two new hats. While on the way to the hat store, we passed by Build-a-Bear. I mentioned that I still had a gift card from there and we went in to check it out. We weren't seeing anything that looked good enough and Scott definitely didn't want Kylie to get a teddy bear in a tutu. On the way out, we saw a stuffed minion and Scott showed Kylie, who then immediately proclaimed how much she wanted it. Lucky for us, all the minion stuff was on sale and so Kylie was able to get her own stuffed minion! She loved the whole process and loves bringing her minion Kevin everywhere.
On Friday, Scott worked and I went and worked at Scott's parents house. After working, we headed to Orem to watch the outdoor play The Little Mermaid. We were supposed to go on Monday, but it was raining and so we switched to go another day. The play was cute, but it was hard to get Kylie to sit still and since we were on a hill, Jordan would roll down if I weren't holding onto him. It was hard to watch and enjoy with a squirming baby and a toddler who won't sit down. Telling Kylie to sit down while outside is pretty pointless.
She was really excited when it first started and loved the singing and music. It only lasted about 4 scenes, though.
Saturday was a much needed lazy day. I've planned a lot of fun activities for us to do this summer and I hope we'll be able to do a lot of them. I'd like to make some fun memories while we have the opportunity to. Here's to a fun summer!

Jordan's 8-months!

Jordan is 8-months now! The best word to describe him right now is busy. He is crawling around, standing and checking out everything in front of him! He is giving me a run for my money and I just hope I can handle him as he gets older.
  • His favorite activity is climbing the stairs. Especially the ones without a baby gate. He's already fallen down three small steps and got his first small bump on his forehead.
  • He loves to smile and giggle.
  • He is still a little bit of a mommy's boy. If he doesn't see me leave he's okay, but if he watches me walk away, he's not a happy boy. It can be pretty cute at times to see how upset he gets. He is so different than Kylie.
  • Jordan loves to take a bath.
  • He loves his sister Kylie. Every time he sees her, he just lights up and smiles so big. He also likes to pull her hair, which Kylie has noticed and covers her hair with her hands when she's getting a diaper change.
  • Jordan still likes to stand, but doesn't care to start walking right now.
  • His sleeping habits are still terrible, but slowly getting better.
  • He loves food and loves to eat.
  • He still has this dry/red patch of skin around his mouth that doesn't seem to go away. We're not exactly sure what is keeping it around, but we feel bad for the poor guy.
  • Everyone just loves this cute, happy boy.
Eating crackers. One of his favorite foods.
His car seat is one of his favorite things to play with.
Yummy strawberries.
His 8-month photo shoot did not go as well as others. Almost every picture was of his eyes closed or hands over the 8-month sticker. I got a few good ones, so they are better than nothing.
