Vegas-Day 4

Tuesday was Scott's last day of conference, so he got done at 12:30pm.  Becky had to work again that day and Scott's parents and Andrew were leaving later in the afternoon.  We had plans to leave Tuesday as well because Kylie had her 9-month appointment the next morning.  We wanted a little more time to do a few things so we called the doctor and got her appointment switched to Friday.  We still had to leave Wednesday morning as Scott worked that night.  I'm glad we had an extra day.

Kylie and I picked Scott up from his conference and we wanted to go somewhere for lunch.  I remember seeing that Guy Fieri (from Food Network) had a restaurant when we were driving the day before.  I looked it up and it seemed like a fun place to go.  Scott's manager Kathryn and a co-worker Kim came with us.  The food was absolutely delicious!!  Scott and I wanted to try a few things so we shared what we ordered.  Scott got an appetizer, which was these crispy breadsticks wrapped in pepperoni with a cheese fondue to dip them in.  They were good, but definitely an appetizer as Scott still felt unfilled after those and half a burger.  I ordered Guy Fieri's award-winning mac n cheese bacon burger.  The burger itself might be the tastiest burger we've had! It was done "smash" style, meaning that when they put the patty on the grill, they smash it down flat.  Despite all that food, I ordered dessert for us- a s'mores monte cristo! Everyone was super happy that I ordered it as it was amazing! Ordering desserts at a restaurant doesn't usually happen for us, but it probably is the best dessert I've had at a restaurant so far.  I would go here anytime I go to Vegas.
Kylie wanted to eat our food!
After eating, Scott's manager and co-worker left to go back to Utah and we went to walk around Caesar's Palace which was right next door.  Caesar's Palace is huge!! We went in the shopping center entrance and it took quite a while to get to the actual hotel where the aquarium is at.  It is a place to shop that's for sure.
Playing in the fountain!
I don't think this hat is for Kylie.
Loving the fish.
After Caesar's Palace, we headed back to Becky's to say goodbye to his parents and Andrew.  After they left, it was nice to just relax and let Kylie take a nap.  After Kylie's nap, we went swimming!  Kylie loves the water! The water in the actual pool was a little chilly, so we took her in the hot tub for a few minutes.  I'm planning on buying a little pool for her to play in this summer.
After swimming we went out to eat at Ricardo's Mexican restaurant.  It was fine, but Mexican food isn't really my favorite.  Once Kylie went to bed we played a few round of Clue, which was fun.  We left around 9:30 the next morning to head back home to Utah!  It was so nice to get away and have a little vacation.  It was so nice of Becky to let us stay with her and so good to see Dean, Nadine and Andrew.  What a great vacation to Vegas!

Vegas-Day 2 and 3

Sunday morning Scott had his conference at 8:00am and we had church at 9:00am.  As usual, Kylie was social and hung out with everyone but me.  After church Scott met us for lunch and then had to head back to his conference for another two hours.  After Scott was done, we headed out to go see the Vegas temple.  It was super windy out there which is a little unusual for Vegas weather.
After seeing the temple, we headed down to Fremont Street.  I went there once when I lived in Vegas and probably because I was single, I remember it differently.  I went at night so it was fun to see it all lit up (it's just a strip of casinos) and we saw a motor cross show there.  I also don't remember there being a ton of smoke.  Right as we walked in, I immediately felt uncomfortable being there with Kylie.  There was just too much smoke and it really wasn't an atmosphere for a baby.  However, we were hungry and wanted to eat so we found a nice non-smoking, indoor place.  I forgot the name of it, but it had delicious french toast which I shared with Becky.  Kylie again squealed the whole time and made a mess everywhere.  That girl sure gets excited about eating.  When we were done eating, it was later in the evening and the street was all lit up.  I (and probably everyone else) didn't care to walk the whole street, so we left.  We played a round of Clue at Becky's and then went to bed.
Monday was more of a relaxed day and I was totally fine with that.  Scott had his conference all day and Becky had to work.  I had plans to meet up with my friend Brook at 12:30, but she had a doctor's appointment she forgot about so it got pushed back until 2:00pm.  Kylie got a great morning nap and I got to catch up on a few of my shows.  It was nice to hang out with Brook and see that everything is going well.  Her baby, Stella, is cute and it was nice to just chat.  I picked up Scott from his conference at 3:30pm and headed back to Becky's to change and get ready for the show.  We ate at Chipotle for dinner and then Becky took Kylie and Andrew back to her place.  It was so nice of her to baby-sit and I'm sure Kylie had fun hanging out with an aunt she doesn't see often.

We saw Terry Fator and he was great!! He won the second season of America's Got Talent and he's a ventriloquist/singer.  He writes his own songs and sang a few of those, but he also sings while doing ventriloquism.  I think that's what makes him stand out a little from other ventriloquists.  He put in a few serious moments in his show which we though made it a little strange as it was a comedy show.  I think it was mostly to promote his new CD.  I thought the comedy was great and we all had an enjoyable time!  After the show, we got frozen yogurt for a treat.

Vegas-Day 1

We left for Las Vegas at about 3:30pm on Friday the 16th. We stopped in St. George for dinner and a break for Kylie and arrived at Becky's house at 9:30pm. Dean, Nadine and Andrew were already there and we all talked for an hour and then went to bed.  Becky's room-mate had gone home for the summer so we stayed in her room.  I guess her room-mate sleeps on an air mattress and I don't know how she does it.  The first night, Kylie and I lacked sleep.  Kylie woke up at 3:30am and struggled to go to sleep the rest of the night.  It was tough and I tried bringing the pack n play out to the living room so Scott could get some sleep, but it wouldn't fit through the door.  I'll admit that I was a little grumpy that morning.  Surprisingly though, Kylie and I did pretty well with all our activities that day on such little sleep.

We first headed to go get a picture with the Las Vegas welcome sign.  We parked at the Mandalay Bay hotel and thought the sign would be walking distance.  It was about 100 degrees out so when we found out it wasn't as close as we thought, we decided to drive there.  Before we drove there, we ate brunch at a buffet place inside the hotel.  We weren't too impressed, but it was still fun to go to one.  Kylie had a blast and was squealing a little too loudly.  When we got to the sign, there was a line to take some pictures and Kylie was sleeping so she's not in any of them.

Kylie is so loved.

Our next stop was M&M World.  It was fun to walk through and we got pictures with two characters.  We also watched the 10 minute 3D movie, which was cheesy of course.
Getting my favorite souvenir!

3D Movie!
Kylie enjoyed the movie too.
After M&M world we headed next door to Coca-Cola world.  While there, the coca-cola bear was out and ready to take pictures.  You can take pictures with your own camera and then a professional takes a few pictures that you can purchase later, which of course we did.  We started taking some with Kylie and poor girl was hungry so she was not super happy.  The bear was a riot though!
What is happening to my mommy?!
Can't stop laughing at this one!
We then drove to the Bellagio and walked around the conservatory.  It was really pretty with all the flowers!  The opening session to Scott's conference was that evening at the Mirage hotel so he headed there.  The rest of us watched two fountain shows and then headed back to Becky's because we were tired.
Tuckered out after such a long day.
After Scott's conference, he went out to eat with his co-workers so the rest of us stayed at Becky's the rest of the night.  We got these delicious sandwiches at a place called Capriotti's.  I got the Thanksgiving sandwich which had turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo. Yum. We played a few round of Clue before going to bed.  It was a busy, but fun first day!
