Recap of June

I've realized as I'm looking through pictures that there's quite a bit from June that I haven't blogged about. So, I'm just going to post pictures with captions underneath (not in order of when they occurred).
Andrew came to stay with us a few days and the kids loved playing with him.
Making empanadas!
Scaring the birds away with forks covered in foil. It worked except for the ones on the edge got eaten.
We loved going out every day to pick raspberries!
Our strawberries were small, but Kylie loved chowing down on them.
He stayed here about 2 seconds. The water was too cold.
Kylie loves playing Just Dance! Her favorite song is Call Me Maybe.
Kylie & Jordan like to play together a lot now. Kylie is learning that she needs to be soft with him and he can't rough house like she wants him to.
Aw, cute.

So Scott broke his leg end of May (I think?) from playing soccer, but it wasn't bad enough that he needed a cast. He waited about a month before he played soccer again. He did fine on a Wednesday night game and went to play the next Monday. While he was running, he felt it pop and realized that he broke it again. He was supposed to work the next morning, but he couldn't walk at all so we headed to the doctor and his work to get some crutches. He still doesn't need a cast for it, but it will take longer to heal. Scott was a little embarrassed to be using the cart at the grocery store, but I thought it was hilarious. I've banned him from any soccer at all the rest of the summer as I want him to be able to walk around Disneyland without any trouble. Hopefully he'll be able to play soccer in the fall as I know he misses it.
Kylie loved the kittens at the animal shelter. She couldn't stop picking them up and hugging them. It was so cute.
This cat jumped on Jordan's head. Haha.

4th of July

We had a fun Independence Day this year. We woke up early and headed down to Scott's parents house to spend the day (I was supposed to pick my mom and Aaron up from the airport, but their flights got delayed). Their ward had a breakfast that we caught the end of. Kylie & Jordan were still tired from waking up early, so they both took naps once we got back to their house. I made the desserts for the evening and then we had lunch and played Clue. I promised Kylie we'd go swimming, so I convinced Andrew to come with us. Kylie has so much fun in the pool. Brita's family showed up later and we had dinner, dessert and then did some fireworks and sparklers. Kylie loved the sparklers so much. It is so fun to see the excitement of a child. What a fun holiday we had.
Pictures from breakfast:
4th of July flowers
Patriotic muddy buddy mix.
Kylie painting fireworks.
Red, white & blue kebabs.
We had fun playing Clue.
Eating pizza for lunch!
After swimming!
Ready to watch fireworks!
Enjoying the show.
I took over after the first few.
Jordan was very enthralled with the fireworks.
Charlotte loves being around Jordan.

Sparkler time!
It was windy, so the matches kept going out. We needed to work quick to keep lighting sparklers.
She kept looking at the sparkler instead of at me.
She can't get enough of these things.
Eating dessert kebabs.
After doing sparklers and eating dessert we headed home and caught our neighborhood fireworks. Right now, there's no need to go out and watch a big firework show. One, because it will be a little too loud for Kylie & Jordan and Two, they would get bored after a short time. Our neighborhood sets off so many, that it's perfect. It was a long day, but a fun one with family.
