We had a fun Independence Day this year. We woke up early and headed down to Scott's parents house to spend the day (
I was supposed to pick my mom and Aaron up from the airport, but their flights got delayed). Their ward had a breakfast that we caught the end of. Kylie & Jordan were still tired from waking up early, so they both took naps once we got back to their house. I made the desserts for the evening and then we had lunch and played Clue. I promised Kylie we'd go swimming, so I convinced Andrew to come with us. Kylie has so much fun in the pool. Brita's family showed up later and we had dinner, dessert and then did some fireworks and sparklers. Kylie loved the sparklers so much. It is so fun to see the excitement of a child. What a fun holiday we had.

It was windy, so the matches kept going out. We needed to work quick to keep lighting sparklers. |

She kept looking at the sparkler instead of at me. |

After doing sparklers and eating dessert we headed home and caught our neighborhood fireworks. Right now, there's no need to go out and watch a big firework show. One, because it will be a little too loud for Kylie & Jordan and Two, they would get bored after a short time. Our neighborhood sets off so many, that it's perfect. It was a long day, but a fun one with family.
