Activities in July

With all the activities July provided, we sure wore ourselves out! We had Scott starting his new job, the holidays, Kristene & Steve coming into town for a week, Scott's birthday and other various activities to keep us busy. We definitely didn't have a normal routine, but that's what happens during the summer and I'm okay with it because we had a lot of fun.
Kylie had a sleepover with Grandma Becky on the 2nd. They went to Wheeler Farm and took the trax downtown (which Kylie said it as "down to the town").
On the 3rd, we went with family to go see the movie Despicable Me 3 in theaters. The kids actually did a pretty good job sitting still and watching the movie with a little help from popcorn and candy.
Scott's first day at his new job!
On July 6th, I took the kids to the Discovery Museum.
This is the new life-flight simulator.
On Monday, the 10th, we went to the zoo in the evening with Grandma Becky. The zoo is sometimes open later for members only and it's nice to go in the evening because then it's not so hot outside. The kids loved it.
Both kids loved the big fans throughout the zoo.
It was fun to watch the leopard climb down the tree.
Tuesday, the 11th was a good day in that it was free Chick-Fil-A day and free 7-11 Slurpees.
The next day we went to the library and there happened to be a mom meet up at the park and they were handing out free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches! Haha. They also had a Moana there to meet and take pictures with, but the line was too long for the kids to wait. While we were in the library, a summer camp was passing out extra lunches and there was something Harry Potter related going on. It was a great day to head to the library.
We had homemade vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries on national ice cream day!
All of the Fletcher grandkids!
At the end of the month, I checked the mail before going to a girls night with some friends from the ward. I opened the envelope and found this letter inside of it. I was so angry and upset while reading it and just tried to get through girls night like nothing had happened. I posted this to Facebook immediately and the response from friends was incredible! Scott and I were just in shock that someone would have the gall to write this letter and we are sure that it had to have been someone from the ward (because of the wording in the letter and we don't know our non-ward neighbors at all). It made us so sad because we thought we had spent so much time into our yard this summer and the fact that somebody couldn't notice it made me feel awful. I felt better after posting it online and seeing the reactions of people and we decided to just let it go and not worry about it anymore, unless we got another letter. It's just too bad that this person wasn't Christ-like at all and instead of offering help themselves, wrote a letter. It was a lesson to me in forgiving and not judging as you don't know everyone's situation.
This was our yard at the time of the letter.
We got to see the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile at Smith's!
We made cinnamon rolls one Sunday afternoon.
Making raspberry frosting.
Kylie is dead asleep and Jordan's just chilling next to her. :)
Reading books together one morning.
