December Activities

December was full of fun, but a lot of activities didn't happen until right before Christmas. It was cold and snowed often to where a lot of outdoor activities couldn't happen early on in the month. We had a merry holiday season full of fun memories. First off, we had our ward breakfast the 3rd of December and the kids had fun playing in the nursery.
We took Jordan to the dermatologist on the 5th and what a difference it's made since that appointment! I just feel sad that it took us so long to take him in. The doctor took one look at him and said that it was eczema. It was poor timing that his eczema started showing when I finished breastfeeding as it made us think it had something to do with a milk sensitivity. The doctor prescribed a steroid ointment to put on him twice a day for a month and then we'll see the doctor again. The eczema spots on his stomach and legs went away within two days of using the ointment and his face has cleared up as well. Like I said, I'm so glad we went, but I'm sad that it didn't happen sooner. Here is a comparison to see how much this ointment as helped.

The picture on the left is from Christmas Eve and the one on the right is from November. What a difference, huh?! It is contact eczema, so if he rubs his face a lot or drools a lot, then it gets a little red, but there are no flakes like there used to be. We are so happy with how things have progressed.
On Friday, the 9th, I had a girls night Christmas party. We had ham sandwiches, dessert and hot chocolate. We talked, had a gift exchange and played a game. It was so much fun and I'm glad that I decided to go through with it.
Kylie then had her preschool Christmas program on the 12th, which I'll put in another post (since there's so many pictures). She was so cute in it. On the 14th, Kylie helped me make sugar cookies to deliver to our friends and the girls I visit teach. She loved helping me roll and cut out the dough, but she didn't care one bit to decorate. She was just so excited to eat the frosting and the cookies. So, I ended up decorating all the cookies myself. If I had more time, I would have delivered some to our neighbors. Maybe next year I'll get more help from the kids in decorating them. We'll see.
The next day, the 15th, we got lucky with nicer weather (in the 50's) and headed to Provo for the North Pole Experience at Seven Peaks water park. Our pass of all passes got us free admission into there and we went with Brita and her family. I'll write about this more in a separate post as well.
On Sunday, the 18th, we had the Omer family Christmas party. It was fun to eat dinner, talk and do a gift exchange with all the family. We ended up with a pineapple, a watermelon cutter, a Martha Stewart planning book, toy handcuffs and some chocolates. I already threw away the book and handcuffs, but at least we didn't end up with Obama toilet paper. Haha. The party is always fun.
Kylie was the angel in the quick reading of the birth of Christ.
On Tuesday, the 20th, I took the kids to go see Santa at the Smith's grocery store by our house. Kylie told Santa that she wanted presents for Christmas. Her and Jordan enjoyed the candy cane they got after visiting.
The next six days were super busy and full of activities. We went and saw the lights at Temple Square, saw the Zoo Lights and then spending Christmas Eve and Christmas day with family. All those will be on separate posts as well. Here are some more pictures of other events that happened in December.
On the 23rd, I was able to go and see the play A Christmas Carol. Nadine unfortunately got sick and couldn't make it, so I took her place. It was a well put on play and I'm glad for the opportunity to go.
Jordan was getting ice cream from both sides! Lucky kid.
Our grocery store Smith's is the best! They had caroling the whole time I was shopping.
Jordan's new trick is climbing on the chairs to climb onto the table.

Kylie got princess hair one day!
So of course we had to dress like a princess.
Kylie was a great cookie making helper.
Playing with grandma's train!
The kids just can't resist playing with this light up Christmas tree.
Kylie kept putting the signs in front of her face.
I remembered that we still had Kyle & Brianna's tree, so we decided to use it!
