California Vacation Day 3: Sea World

Thursday, August 6th, we headed to Sea World!!  We picked Sea World as something to do because I have never been before and they were having discount tickets during the week, so it worked out.  We left for San Diego at 8:30am and met up with Kyle and Brianna, who followed us to just outside the park.  We found a place for them to park their car and then they piled in with us to get into the park.  While getting into the park, Kristene was driving and thought the entrance was right where the GPS said and drove up onto a bike lane!  It was hilarious and I don't think we'll let her forget it.  We saw a lot of fun shows and Kylie had fun looking at the fishes.  We started out the park with the dolphin show and that was fun to watch.  Also, Brianna & Kyle got a nice camera and so some of the pictures are from that.
Kylie was super cuddly when we got there.
Riding on a dolphin.
Kylie wants more!
We then made our way over to the seal show.  It was more of a comedy show, but you got to see a few tricks.
After the seal show, we then headed over to see Shamu!  We did not sit in the splash zone, even though Kylie was prepared with her swimsuit.  I thought it was only one whale, but they had 4 and a baby one.  It was a fun show.
After Shamu, we got some lunch and we found a place that was selling some fun foods.  Scott got chicken and funnel cake (instead of waffles) and I got a spam sandwich (which was actually pretty good).  It was fun to try something you wouldn't get anywhere else.
I think the next thing we did was go to the kids area/splash pad.  I changed Kylie into her swimsuit, but she wasn't too interested in getting really wet.  She just had fun running around and being free from the stroller.  The only drama that happened this day was that we lost Abrie for about 1/2 an hour.  She is a super fast girl and they have a climbing course, so she climbed that and stayed at the top for a while, which made it hard to spot her.  Luckily, a worker found her and brought her down.  We were done with the splash pad at that point.
We then checked out the sharks and let Kylie run around a little more while waiting for Kristene and Abrie.  After that, we fed some flamingos and then headed to a Cirque show.
The Cirque show was pretty fun.  I wasn't sure about it at first because we sat at the very top and couldn't see anything that was close to the stands.  I was afraid that the whole show would be that way, but then they did tricks further out in the water and I'm glad because those were fun to see.
After that, we got some ice cream, saw some penguins and then checked out other small fish tanks.
These are the fish that eat the dead skin off of you.
We left around 8pm, which made it a long day.  It was a great park to go to and I'm glad that we went.  It's a fun park, but I think if we ever lived close that it wouldn't be one I'd get season passes to.  That's just because aquarium life isn't something that super interests me.  We had to head to Riverside to drop Andrew off so he could have his medication.  Once we got back to David & Kristene's, we all went straight to bed.
