For Scott's birthday, I surprised him with tickets to the Real Salt Lake vs. Manchester United soccer game. When we first heard about the game, Scott talked about how fun of a game that would be to go to, but was not willing to pay that much money to attend. Normal tickets were up to $200, but my aunt and uncle are season ticket holders and had the opportunity to buy cheaper tickets to the game. They were able to buy tickets for us at $80 a piece and my mom bought Scott's ticket as a birthday gift. My mom bought two tickets for herself as well, but no one she asked was available, so Scott's brother Andrew came to the game as well. I made sure that Scott had that evening available (even though he had soccer that night) and asked his sister Becky to baby sit the kids. I didn't tell Scott about the game until he came home from work and I told him to get changed and the tickets were sitting on his clothes. He was super excited and surprised and it made me so happy to see him excited. We went out to dinner at Panda Express and then took the Trax to the game to avoid traffic and parking. Our seats were next to the "mayhem section" and at the front of the section, so we didn't have anyone in front of us. Real Salt Lake lost the game 2-1, but we were on the side closest to the goal that they scored and so that was fun to see up close. Scott had a blast watching Manchester United play and this was such a fun birthday present for me to give to him.

Discovery Museum with the Fletchers
Kristene and her two girls as well as Steve and his kids came into town in July. Kristene was here for about 10 days and Steve was here for a week. On Monday, July 17th, we went to the Discovery Museum downtown. The kids all had a blast and I had to head out early to get the kids down for naps and to prepare for Scott's big birthday surprise that night. I love having a pass to that museum now and I'm sure we'll head there often during the fall and winter. It was fun to see the things that Jordan and Kylie were interested in this time. They usually love the water area, but this time they preferred a lot of the activities upstairs and outside. Jordan loved the little wind tunnel and Kylie liked playing pretend doctor.
Raspberry Picking
On Saturday, July 8th, we headed up to Kaysville to do our annual raspberry picking at my aunt and uncle's raspberry patch. Scott's parents, Andrew, Brita (and Dylan and Charlotte) and my mom all joined in as well. There were just too many raspberries for us to pick alone and so it was good that they all came to help. We went in the early morning as it started to get pretty hot by lunch time and we came out with quite a few raspberries! I froze two small baggies worth and then we ate some with homemade ice cream a week later. After picking raspberries, we headed to lunch at a place nearby called Granny Annie's. There was quite a wait, but the food was delicious. Kylie wanted pancakes and the ones she got were huge!! They were so, so good though that we just had to take home the leftovers. I think it will become tradition to go eat there after picking raspberries from now on.

4th of July
We had a fun, but busy 4th of July this year! Last year, we had breakfast with Scott's parents early in the morning and this year, we wised up and decided to sleepover at their house so we wouldn't have to wake up as early. Breakfast was good and then we headed back to their house for naps. After naps, we went swimming and then we headed to our house for dinner and sparklers with my mom, Aaron and Grandma Omer. After sparklers, everyone left and we put a blanket out on the front lawn and watched the neighborhood fireworks. The kids had a blast watching them and we couldn't believe how many fireworks were going off all around us. We had a great day celebrating our independence.
