We moved in on a Saturday and on Tuesday, Madeline came home with us. We went to the Humane Society to look. There were quite a few kitties to choose from, so it was fun to play with a variety of them. Once I held Madeline, I knew she was the one I wanted. We played with her for about 20 minutes and then told the people at the desk that we wanted her.
Since it's the Humane Society, they had us fill out an application and ask us questions to make sure that Maddie would be well taken care of. Once we got her, we went to the pet store to buy a few things and then brought her home.
She was shy the first day we brought her, but loves getting attention now. She loves playing with anything that dangles, so any type of string is the best toy for her. She has her play time, but is pretty calm the rest of the time. We have to be careful walking up and down the stairs because she likes to run right in front of our feet. I may or may not have accidentally stepped on her already because of that. Since she was at the humane society, she got trained to use her litter box and it's been nice not to have to worry about that. Because of that, I like to let her roam free at night. She mostly just sleeps with us and likes to sleep above my head and then eventually take up my entire pillow. Haha.
We love Madeline and are glad we got her.
