Love these surprises from the photo pass program. |
After walking with Belle, we headed inside Main Street and saw Goofy in his skeleton costume. It was the first official day of Halloween at Disneyland. While waiting in line, a band came out and Scott and Kylie danced along to the music. We then got some pictures in front of the Walt Disney and Mickey statue. Scott wanted to recreate it with Jordan, but he would not stand and hold still.
We then headed to Fantasyland and rode the carousel. After that, we headed to It’s a Small World to ride that one again. The kids loved it just as much as the first time. After the ride, we met up with David & Kristene in Toon Town for some lunch. We then saw Pluto and got some pictures with him. After lunch, we switched kids and we took Addison while David & Kristene took Kylie to go watch the Frozen show again. I’m glad she was able to watch that again, but I do wish we were able to explore Toon Town with her.
Since we just had the two babies, we
weren’t sure
exactly what to do. We headed towards Critter Country and I decided to
ride
Splash Mountain. While riding Splash Mountain, Scott took the babies to
meet Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh, but he didn't get any pictures with
them. It took a little while for me to go on the ride, even though
I did single rider and so by the time I was done, the Winnie the Pooh
characters were back again, this time Tigger was there as well. Jordan was
adorable with Tigger. He was giggling and laughing the whole time with him.
People in line were videoing and taking pictures of him. I wish I could have
taken a video of him, but I was holding Addison and so I’m glad the photo pass
person was there to capture the moment. Getting pictures with Eeyore and Pooh
bear were just as fun, but Tigger was the best.
We met up with David, Kristene and the kids and then we headed to Adventureland. We grabbed some fast passes for Indiana Jones and then found out the line for the Jungle Cruise was short, so we got to ride on that one twice. Then the boys rode Indiana Jones and we switched and the girls rode it. After that we headed back to Critter Country and saw the Winnie the Pooh characters out again! We hopped in line since Kylie hadn’t met any of them yet. It was fun to see that Tigger remembered Jordan from before. After seeing the characters, we went on the Winnie the Pooh ride.
We then headed towards Main Street as we were going to meet
up with Steve and his kids. We noticed the line for Thunder Mountain Railroad
was short, so Kristene, Abrie and I rode it. Once we met up with Steve, his
kids and his friend (who got him in for free) it was about 45 minutes before
the parade. I wanted to make sure we got a good spot and so I set up while
other people went and got some snacks. We got prime seats and I am glad as
Kylie was able to see everything up close and personal. She got some waves, kisses
and high fives.
Kylie was waving the whole entire parade. |
After the parade, we headed to the French Market restaurant to eat dinner. Since it was a Friday and the first day of Halloween Time, it was a little bit more crowded and so dinner took some time. It was fun that a couple sitting next to us actually recognized Jordan from seeing Tigger. After dinner we headed to go watch the Tiki room show. At this point, Kylie hadn’t had a nap and Jordan was tired as well. Since Kylie wouldn’t sit still, I took her out and once I put her in the stroller to relax, she fell asleep. I was feeling exhausted as well, but since we had family with us we didn’t want to leave them. Steve and his kids wanted to ride Star Tours, so Scott went with him while I sat out and watched the kids. After that, we said bye to Steve and headed to Space Mountain (which turned into Ghost Mountain) and Scott watched the kids while David, Kristene and I went on it. The park was open until midnight and it was already 11pm. We were all tired and had a little bit of walking still to do to get to the cars, so we headed out. It was a long day and I didn’t take as many pictures as the first day, but I’m glad that what we did was satisfying. The kids, especially Kylie, had a blast and we have so many good memories from this vacation.
I am glad that I took advantage of Disneyland's photo pass system as well. There are photographers throughout the park that take your picture, mostly in iconic spots, and then give you a card for you to look them up after for purchase. I wanted to make sure that we got some good quality pictures and not have to worry about whether some stranger got everyone's head in. I bought the week pass for $69 and they give you every picture they take, whether it's good or not. You're also able to get ride pictures as well and if anyone else gets a picture taken, you can add their card onto yours. The photographers were nice and we definitely got some good ones. I'll have to see if I'd want to do the photo pass for future visits, but I am hoping by then I'll either have a nicer camera or phone. In the end, it was totally worth the money to have those pictures.
